I spent time in Gjakova, Prizren, Peje, and around that part of the country. The family I stayed with in Gjakova was great and the nightlife was quite fun. Prizren was beautiful and the Roman ruins above the city were really interesting. Peje likewise was a very interesting city and I enjoyed walking around, looking at the architecture.
In general, I found people to be very helpful, but not in the overly friendly way that most Americans think of helpfulness. The food that I had was absolutely amazing – local cheese, bread, meat dishes, salad, fruit – visit during the summer and the fruit markets will be fantastic.
