I lived in north-western Siberia for a year in a city of around 100,000 people. It’s an amazing place and not as cold as you would imagine. Well, winter average of around -30 which does sound bad, but it’s really not that bad somehow. It’s not the place for people who want fabulous architecture and tonnes of attractions because well, there aren’t many. But if you like amazingly friendly people, lots of vodka and snowy taiga, this is the place for you.

I don’t know why I just think Life is too short not to experience something…actually MJULTIPLE things outside your comfort zone and Siberia seems to suit that part of my life.
The trans siberian train ride would be an amazing experience that i plan to take in the next 10 years

In Siberia I have some friends I haven´t seen in more than 10 years. Actually they were my father´s friends – but that is just the same.
I would love to see those beautiful people again! And I miss being among Russians!

Wonderful. Take the train right through, but please stop in more places than I did. Camping around Baikal was great, especially the people we ran into, including that one fat man who let us use his fire, fed us the fish he’d caught, and supplied us with vodka since we’d forgotten our own. This was during summer. I guess during winter camping must be quite rough. Went to a decent nightclub in Irkutsk, but damned if I can remember the name. Electro beats and dudes dancing all stiff, like robots. Met a gangster there, or at least he claimed to be.
