Not worth visiting!

High Tech Hub of Southern Wyoming

We stopped here for lunch on our way home. It is the home of the University of Wyoming. Besides that, there’s really not a lot to see here.

Laramie looks and feels a lot like most of the other towns in Southern Wyoming in that most of them were built by, and grew up around the railroad. The buildings in the center of the old part of town all look very much alike. Sometimes, even when passing through for the first time, I could swear that I’d been here before, just because it looks so much like many of the other railroad towns in Wyoming.

Mom's House

I went to Laramie last November to have Thanksgiving at my mom’s house. She and her husband had moved there in ‘05 because he’d gotten a new job nearby.

The Larmaie police pulled us over immediately after entering city limits for speeding and wrote us a $75 ticket. The speed limit goes from 55 to 35 in about a mile, and we’d been on the highway most of the day. Innocent mistake.

The bars were dead, and there’s no indoor smoking.

Over all, just a weird little country town like all the other weird little country towns, but every place is worth visiting at least once!

Visit - on your way through.

Laramie is a town you visit driving through to somewhere. Great bar though “the buckhorn” will provide a very interesting experience.

Whyoming

I used to live in Laramie and would like to go back at some point. There’s an interesting “underground scene” if you look…kind of.

I'm from here

This is a great jumping-off point to great hiking, climbing, and backpacking in the national forest in the summer and very affordable downhill skiing in the winter as well as cross-country skiing, show-shoeing, and snowmobiling. The restaurants are great and as a university town we have cultural events such as plays and concerts frequently.
