Nordkapp aka: The North Cape

because it is so desolate and unspoiled

you`ll experience how small you are…..like nowhere else…

Well, i tried to get there from Narvik…and well the buses there were sooooooo expensive that it was actually cheaper to hire a car, and by “cheaper” i mean still extortionate. Oh well, i vow to try again someday! (maybe in winter!)

When I served on the Fishing trawlers out of Hull we used to fish up there.

I have been ashore at Honningsvag, Vardo, and Tromso. Vardo is a very remote little island which is about as close as you get to Russia without going to Russia!

Tried to go here a few years ago – we planned an epic drive from the middle of the UK, across to Göteborg, across to Turku, up through Finland across northen Norway to NordKapp, then back down the Bothnian coast of Sweden.

Unfortunately, about two weeks before we set out, our ferry caught fire and the trip was cancelled.

When I have rebuilt my truck we’ll be going in it.
