Berghoff Cafe

As far as airport food goes, it’s one of my favorite places to eat. It’s located right next to Gate C26. They make great sandwiches there. My favorite is the bratwurst sandwich. I always get it on rye bread with sauerkraut and the German style mustard. MMMMM

I tried their so-called German potato salad. It wasn’t terribly authentic. The thing that really gave it away is the fact that it is served cold, instead of hot. It wasn’t really bad, it just wasn’t what I had expected.

They also have their own brand of root beer (a sugar free variety too). I tried some and really liked it.

I had long layovers on my flights both coming and going to Washington DC last week. I stopped and ate at Berghoff both times.

If you go in at peak times it is a very crowded place. You just have to find a seat and sit down. I’ve met some very nice strangers at Berghoff.
