Coober Pedy isn’t bad, the boring stretch of land before it sucks though.
The underground hotel was fucking amazing, but Coober Pedy isn’t much to look at. The only thing we did there really was buy some opals.

So he made friends with some of the locals and he flew the family up there a couple of times. Coober Pedy and Andamooka are dusty towns made famous for the opals mined there. It’s hot too… It’s almost as if hobbits emigrated to the most barren landscape they could find, as it’s so hot that the easiest way to live is underground, so the majority of homes are underground. I was probably only about 10 the last time I went there, but one of the major things I remembered was seeing more bullet holes in walls and road signs than I’ve ever seen (before or since! |
