Great Wall

All of us has read about the great wall and wondered why it’s so special. I didn’t realise how fantastic it would be to stand there, on one of the worlds most fantastic monument made of human hands. It was like a whole new world that opened my eyes.

This neverending wall that crawled over the mountains as long you could see. How could they bulid something like this and poor bastards who had to be there and guard the emperors land.

A man made object you can see from space. I’d love to hike the entire route.

Even better would be to have the time to hike the entire route.

Incredible, it’s a never ending wall. For me it was amazing and unbelievable how the human is able of producing this kind of monuments.

A bit overhyped, but still nice to go there. Would recommend others to take the trip if you are nearby.

don’t go to Badaling! Most people do the 10 km hike and they said it is amazing. Badaling is shoulder to shoulder. Definitly not a worthwhile way to see the Great Wall.

Will worth the visit—spend a few extra $$ and head out to a less crowded part of the wall (elbow-to-elbow is not the way to do the great wall!).

Amazing and breath-taking! Truly one of the wonders of the world. But be sure to wear comfortable shoes and that your fitness is up to scratch.

I’ve done a lot of traveling but mostly in Europe, the near East and the Americas. China is one of those great trips of a lifetime.
There is much more cultural, architectural and historic diversity to take in when you are far from home.

I went to China with my school in February 2007, and we visited all the main tourist attractions, but the Great Wall was something else entirely. If you’re going to go, may I recommend downloading “Terra Firma” by Delerium onto your iPod and listening to that whilst sat on the wall. Changed my life forever.

One of the best days of my life thus far was the day I spent on the Great Wall! It was really satisfying to do something I had been dreaming about…my day on the Wall was towards the end of a month long tour of China.
