Dreamland by Juhani

I heard about this place just a couple days before i went there in Chiang Mai. Only had time for two nights, but oh boy it was worth it.

Pai is one of the most amazing places and the most relaxed I’ve ever been to. The atmosphere is surreal. Found a group of friends instantly even though it’s usually difficult for me.

I hope I can go there again one day for a longer visit, but there’s a danger I won’t come back!

Home sweet home by bonstargazer

Pai is the only place I feel home. The atmosphere is simply amazing. Once you have been there you will never forgot the whole life, trust me.

I have been there twice and I want to live in pai forever.

When I stayed at cave lodge, near Pai, we saw Pai as the local town centre, and went there for shopping and to interview people for our fieldwork (I was there on a university field course).

Now looking at the photos on here and other people’s entries, I realise what a tiny, slow, relaxed village it was – and not a bustling metropolis after all! (it’s all relative) I remember it being a nice place, and could have spent a lot longer there.

small town in the north by k

forget changmai, go to pai.

i had never heard about this place before, but travelling up from ko samui > bangkok > chang mai, i ended up tagging along with a group of belgians on their way there. I had never heard about it, but in the 48 hours of ferry/bus/bus/bus travel, they convinced me to go with them.

Pai is this really tiny town, where there literally are two streets – one street where all the shops are, and one street where accomodations are. the policemen in the afternoon get bored and love to challenge the farang to soccer games. the locals are super friendly, and after a couple of days being there you start to feel like you’re you belong in their town.

its an amazing place to just hang out, think, and meet locals, away from all the commercial hub-bub that thailand has become.
