Gainesville

Be cautious about travelling in or around Gainesville around the beginning of holiday breaks or around football games. Traffic is unbelievable. Seek alternative routes to I-75!

My unfortunate journey here was in January of 2006. Outright stupid. It was horribly humid, the people were weird, and every corner I turned, I was looking for someone playing Dueling Banjos.

Did I mention the university is a huge MoFo to get through….

Spend a week there visiting family, it was such a “classic” american city, like the ones we see in the movies :) very cute

I love Gainesville

I lived in Gainesville for 8 years and miss it every day. It’s a little po-dunk and quirky, but has amazing people and amazing moments. It’s a quaint place, but only really in select areas (like the duck-pond, downtown, and campus). If you stick to these areas, you’ll find (sometimes) good music, good cheap food & beer (it’s a college town, after all!), and interesting people-watching opportunities.

Spent a week here in 2006. Competed at the AFA-NIET

It’s been a year since I graduated. ::tear:: I miss Gainesville.

went to UF for 1.5 year here…
there’s the university, and nothing else…

I am in the system now. G’ville’s summers are crazy rainy. This town is really into football, and you may get a little tired of seeing so much orange. Both schools are pretty good, I went to U of F so I can’t say anything about Santa Fe. Gainesville is quite mellow (ahem…dead) over the summer.
