Go Blue Jackets!!!
I went to see a CBJ game for on my birthday with about 10 friends and had a blast. Nationwide Arena has been ranked one of the top sports venues in the country. They have great programs during the hockey games to keep the level of excitement high and plenty of audience participation. Never a letdown at the Arena!
Be sure to check out the neighboring bars & restaurants in the Arena District too!

Avoid the Upper Bowl (and above) for music concerts.
I went there to see Elton John & Billy Joel (together) and Stars on Ice.
I had nosebleed seats for Elton & Billy – and the sound was tragically distorted up that high. Fingernails-across-the-blackboard distorted. (It was tragically painful.)
Stars on Ice was great! (But I had excellent seats.)
I swore off Nationwide for any more music concerts, and held my resolve for nearly 3 years… but I caved in and bought tickets for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The show is the first week of December (2005), and we have lower bowl… so hopefully it will work out.

I went for the Red Wings/Blue Jackets game in ‘04. It was great, because we got tickets two days before, and still were able to go. Plus, most of the upper bowl was Red Wings fans (actually, I’d say at least half of the fans were), so it was almost like a home game!
