Worth visiting!
It’s cheaper to stay in St. Ignace and take a ferry over. Plus, it’s fun! Great island, lots to do.

Also, I would recommend an overnight stay. The hotels are a little on the pricey side but the nightlife is actually really fun. Lots of 20 somethings who work there in the summer. If you can catch him, check out Mike Riz (pronounced rise). Fantastic musician who is usually playing around town on the weekends. The patio of the Pink Pony is a great place to get cocktails or dinner. Beautiful view of the harbor and they have a hot tub for public use so that’s kind of fun. Cheers!

I used to drive horses here and give tours of Mackinac Island. Murray’s Hotel has the biggest and best selection of fudge. If you come here I highly recommend bringing you own mountain bike if you have one. They can be pretty expensive to rent. But go to the middle of the island if you really want to see it. For people into mountain biking there are a lot of trails w/ something to challenge any level rider. And, make sure you find your way up to Fort Holmes. It’s the highest point on the island and has a beautiful view of the Straits of Mackinac as well as the Mackinac Bridge. If anyone needs any travel tips this is a location I know inside and out. Feel free to ask.

If you ever want to experience time travel, visit Mackinac Island. Mackinac is a moment in time frozen. No motorized vehicle, except for emergency vehicles, are allowed on the island. All transportation is bicycle or horse and buggy.
The island is just beautiful from its landscaping to its architecture, its a photographers dream.

I haven’t been there in a long time, but I loved Mackinaw Island. I’m a museum junkie, and there are a bunch of little museums to check out, in addition to the fort. The Beaumont Museum is my favorite. Definitely rent a bike, and get some fudge.

The reason I want to go here is because it’s where the Grand Hotel is located. That is where the film Somewhere in Time was made even though the book takes place at the Hotel del Coronado.

This is one of my favorite places in the world. No cars, just bikes, horses and people walking. Gorgeous views. I recommend renting a tandem bike and touring around the entire island. It’s only 8 miles around!

I remember marveling at the Grand Hotel, and found it interesting that cars were not allowed on the island.
