Get off at Coliseum station!

So many greasy, beery memories of this place swell my mind. As a kid, I would mostly be the nerd who brought a Star Trek book to the game and only looked up when people cheered, but hey, they gave out free tattoos, who wouldn’t want to go.

I never really got into hockey until this year, and now Fernando Pisani is my Pride of Little Italy.

My husband and I are on an odyssey to visit all NHL arenas, and we’re about two-thirds done (perhaps a little more or a little less, depending on how you define “visit”). We planned a trip here in late 2004, but I was sent to Iraq and the NHL season was canceled.

Woohoo! We made our flight reservations to visit here and the Saddledome in Calgary today. We’re heading up at the end of this October when the Washington Caps play in both buildings.

My husband and I planned to attend an Oilers game there at the end of 2004, but between my deployment and the NHL strike, that did not happen.
I’d really like to tour Edmonton while we’re there, too.
