    Worth visiting!

For 9 months at the Holiday Inn resort in Senggigi Beach. Hung out with the local people, smoked cloves, learned Bahasa Indonesia, learned to read Arabic, learned to scuba dive, hung out at the beach, and played games with the kids next door. Didn’t bother with my correspondence school work! It was some of the greatest 9 months of my life!

    Worth visiting!

We took a 1-day tour of Lombok mainland. Rented a van and went to this Pura which I thought was beautiful like the ones in Bali but was very disappointed as it was only a small stage surrounded by a moat! And apparently the King prays there 3 times a day but it looked so boring & nothing great! I was like waaaat???? Then we were off to Kuta beach (surfers beach) & Tanjung Aan. We got harassed to buy coconut juice by kids and women selling woven materials. I shoulda buy the materials it was cheap & pretty. We swam & the view was pretty there & no one was around. It was low season. On the way home, we went to eat Ayam Taliwang Pelecing!! A Lombok specialty. It was so damn spicy!! Arhghghgghgh but syok gilerrrrr!!! By then it was too late to see the Batu Bolong temple so we just chilled out at this Happy Cafe & listened to the live-band performance.

The next day we took a boat to Gili Trawangan. Gili Trawangan was very laid back, no clubs just chill-out places. Seems like theres really nothing for us to do there except to swim & watch dvds since we both don’t drink. I don’t mind though we even rented a bike to cycle aound the whole island! Woohooo! That was 9 km such an achievement for me. I had to relearn to cycle… my butt ached like mad by the end of it. It was cool cos we would stop cycling & swam at the nice spots we found around the island & drank pineapple juice & then continued cycling again until we find another beautiful spot. The next day we took a cidomo (horse cart) to view the beautiful sunset. Basically just enjoyed 5 days of paradise!

    Not worth it!

I like the nature, the beach and stuff.. but not the people. i think that if u are chinese, they may not like you because they look at me differently than they look at their own people. i just hope that one day they would not look down nor discriminate chinese. i like the food there too.
