I was with my friend Sarah and we went and spent hours at the park and then walked to Haight Ashbury. We went to the Conservatory, sat in the field in front of it, took pictures at the AIDS memorial garden, walked in the hot sun along the road and spent time doing much more. We saw the Vivien Westwood exhibit at the De Young museum, which was the most incredible exhibit I’d ever seen. The Golden Gate Park is one of the most amazing places and spending that day there was the most beautiful afternoon I’ve experienced in my life. My heart is in San Francisco.

Gold3n Gat3 Park ♥ by Rcknmama13

Its like walking into the 60’s! lol well kinda. every other corner has a hippy wannabe or a very friendly but unapproachable bum. The Park itself is awesome, and well known for homeless making it thier homes, but its pretty big and green! some of the trails lead into the bushes, where u find little homes made out of cardboard, or marijuana roaches on the ground. lol not to mention when walking by some of these bums will actually come up to you and offer you marijuana for sale. its a very interesting trip, i’d do it again. Other than that the scenerey is great, its a very friendly n interesting park.

I ventured into these trees many times during my four years in SF between 1984-1988. My freshman year, I lived just two streets over from there.
