Clear Lake

checked out the surf ballroom with my dad, then out to the field five miles outside of town where buddy holly, richie valens and the big bopper’s plane crashed. the field is completely lined with male marijuana plants. there was a REALLY cute girl working in a gas station in town.

Clear Lake is not only a great place to visit, it’s a fun place to live as well. It has that perfect small town feel. The lake is fabulous early in the morning on a calm day as the sun comes up over the glassy water. Definitely worth visiting!

Went to See Ted Nugent over the July 4th Holiday,We will be back.The Surf Ballroom is just the right size for small concerts.It was a blast!2hours up 3 hours there 2 hours back.

I was just in Clear Lake this weekend attending the first Harvest Festival. The downtown was set up for wine tasting and jazz, trolley and carriage rides, grape stomping and fun. The day was topped off with a concert at the legendary Surf Ballroom where Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper, and Richie Valens played their last concert. The weather was unusually mild for October and the crowd was friendly and ready for a good time. I grew up there but have been away a long time. I’d love to move back!
