West Yellowstone

Travelled through here leaving Yellowstone in June 2005

.. if you’re going to Yellowstone NP. Good place to stay. Nearest entrance to Old Faithful.

Awesome place. Theres only like 15 streets tops, it’s so peaceful. I went a couple days after Christmas in 2004. First time it didn’t snow on Christmas in like 30 years. But still got to snowmobile, its awsome just driving through the snow covered hills and mountains. I reccomend to anyone who can stand the cold. It was only 29 degrees. Usually its like 30 below 0.

While it is small and a little tourist-trappy, it’s kinda cute, too! Also, if you’re into seeing all the entrances into Yellowstone, it’s a do. I remember going to the Dairy Queen there a few times while I worked in the park one summer.

Its a odd little place. It butts right up against Yellowstone National Park, limiting its growth somewhat. I’ve seen it grow over the years, but I haven’t been back very recently, so I’m sure its gotten bigger.

It was a little tourist-trappy last time I was there. They’ve got an itsy-bitsy airport that I flew into once… that was an experience!
