40 Watt Club

I went with two Rachels; one was a friend, the other had a crush on me. We went to see Henry Rollins do a spoken word show. We ate shitty Mexican food on the sidewalk outside, in front of the tattoo parlor, while waiting for the doors to open. I scrambled up to the front and center as soon as the doors opened and laughed my ass off for the next two and a half hours.

I saw this band Jucifer there YEARS and YEARS ago.

I saw Man or Astro-Man? and Of Montreal here back in 2001. Those were some great shows. I was going to Mike Doughty, but I moved back to Louisiana.

That inflation means it’s soon going to be the 60 Watt Club. Of course there’s a conflicting rumor that they’re conserving energy to help slow global warming, so they are going to have to re-name it the 20 Watt Club.

I want to see the DBT here…. Seems it’d be a great show.

lots of really good musicians know about the 40-Watt and know how small it is, so the really awesome events aren’t always pimped from every rooftop. Camper Van Beethoven & Cracker did a show there not long ago…I know, right? Like 7 hours straight for that guy…
