Ucluelet

I lived in Ucluelet for the first 9 years of my life, and it’s great. You can walk everywhere, and there’s even an ostrich farm in the outskirts. I hear some big names are investing there as well, Donald Trump and Julia Roberts I believe?

first of all… the views… in this area are awesome…weather in the summer, or in the winter…. there’s hiking… surfing… or simply storm watching…. i wake in the morning.. and can hear the eagles outside… and the seal lions. .... almost daily in my commute to work i see bears and deer….. amongst the mountains .. and over looking the waters… i have to say…..................... very majestic!

if you would like to escape the busyness of big cities … this place is very slow paced. A place to relax… and enjoy!

i’ve taken a bamfield tour once which was awesome… saw whales even!

mattersons is the best place for breakfast, and jiggers the best place for lunches !

if you can take a drive down to long beach… its beautiful there also.

Ucluelet (Ukee for short) is worth a visit – the Wild Pacific trail is spectacular. The ‘new’ linear section is uncrowded even in the summer – I used to come here when I worked in Tofino to ‘get away”. The boat Lady Rose up to Port Alberni is well worth the money (25-30). Ukee has a much more “real” feel than Tofino at the other end of the penisula.

Ukee is part of what makes british columbia “supernatural” !

My family spent a very happy week based in Ucluelet. Watching the salmon being unloaded at the harbour was awesome – they were huge!

We got married in Ukee this year. Love it! Would definitely go back again.
