You need to go here to see the Gandarmerie. But that’s probably all you want to see. Other nearby cities such as St. Raphael are nearly the same with see-through water and sand beaches.

Way too touristy, as much as the rest of the French Riveria is, but worthwhile nevertheless.

I came here in 1996 when I was studying in South of France with other American students,(n moi was the only int’l student).
I still remember they had a mini picasso musuem and a very awesome beach! I could see everyone’s jaws was dropping when they got to see so many topless women, it was a beautiful sight though, hahahaha.. :)
How many places on earth do they allow women to walk around topless? Cheers to this place!

...this made it affordable. The beach was good and so were the surrounding towns.

Lovely place for a shoppaholic like me, but everything was very expensive. Was gutted that I couldn’t find a handbag that I liked – they were all too hideous, totally over the top & not my style at all! But I would definitely go back for another look!

Very expensive but ugly and over-hyped.

I was extremely disappointed by St. Tropez. I had been expecting a picturesque fishing village with little cafes, winding alleyways and artist’s galleries, but instead I found three streets full of overpriced designer tat and a harbour rammed with impossibly large motor cruisers. Not my idea of paradise.
After exploring for an hour in the hope that I was actually in the wrong place and sitting on a bench in an empty square covered with dog muck and litter, I nearly gave up. However, I did find one gem – the Musée de l’Annonciade – a tiny gallery in a converted chapel which houses paintings by Braque, Seurat and Matisse. Definitely worth a visit.
I have spoken to friends since who love St Trop and I’m pretty sure that having lots of money would reveal another side of this town, but I won’t be going back again.
