The Great Balloon Hoax
On April 13, 1844, Edgar Allan Poe stood here and revealed The Sun story published was a hoax. The people surrounding the building didn’t even listen to him.
The Sun Building at 124 Fulton is the only remaining piece of architecture in Manhattan related to Edgar Allan Poe. Everything else has been razed and rebuilt upon.
