Evanston

I’m subletting here now!

Well, Evanston changed my life because it was the place where i was born & raised. From 0yr-13yr i called Evanston home, with a short stay in skokie right before i left. Anyhow, i can complain, the school system equipped me with the tools i needed but yet the ease of access to the city open my mind to many different avenues. I never realized it til i moved to the south after my freshman year at ETHS. I was two steps ahead of the class and had a broader view of the world when compared to most of my new classmates. In short, i’m glad my mom birth’d me in the EV and i’ll always call it home.

Evanston is a cool place. It’s very intelligent and artistic; you can see it in the people and in the architecture. Downtown it’s a cross between a city city (such as Chicago), and a suburban downtown area. There’s lots of things to do—resturants, movie theater, parks, shops, music. It has good transportation, with lots of buses and the el and the Kenosha to Chicago Metra train.

I didn’t grow up here, but I moved here from a less cool Chicago suburb (Wheaton, a very staid republican & religious town).

And of course there’s Northwestern University nearby.
