The last time I went to this place
It’s been almost five years since I went to Ko Chang and I still remember how thrilled I was when I got there. I LOVED this place. I stayed at the treehouse lodge in lonely beach, does anyone know if it still exsists, or has anyone been there recently?

Siam Beach Resort: Still quiet on Lonely beach
Don’t understand all the negative stories about Lonely Beach. We stayed at the Siam Beach Resort a few weeks ago and practically had the beach and the swimming pool to ourselves. The rooms were brand new, the pool was right down on the beach and the beach BBQ served the best seafood ever. We also had a look in one of the Hill side bungalows and we would have been happy to stay there, if we weren’t as lazy as we are. We saw Kai Bea beach and white sands beach on our way out and there is no comparising with lonely beach.

How this place changed my life
Met the girl of my dreams on Koh Phangan, got married and went to Koh Chang for our honeymoon. That was 12 years ago, so I imagine it’s changed quite a bit. Key highlights while I was there were a small hike over a hill that led to an expanse of unspoilt white sand that only I and a few others occupied, and starting a nude beach!
The last couple of days on the walk to the secluded beach, I witnessed a road building team begin their assault on my paradise – the story of Thailand in some ways.

I love Ko Chang!
Beautiful and relaxed. I’d avoid lonely beach though, it ain’t so lonely and I was unimpressed with the hipper-than-thou backpacker crowd (even though technically I fit the demographic). I was there late October, so I don’t know about the high season, but at that time of the year there are plenty of other places to choose from that are still beautiful and quiet.
