Great trip but... by mmaclise

We had a family reunion in Cabo, so there were 5 different families who went. We had a nice time, though didn’t leave the resort much unless it was to trek over to Gardenia’s Taco stand that had THE most amazing shrimp tacos and salsas I’ve ever had. The big surprise, however, came 3 months after our return when everyone in our party who used the cash machine across from our hotel, discovered that our credit card info had been copied and sold because we all had illegal credit card activity in Mexico within the same week. obviously, our bank reimbursed us but it’s more of a hassle than anything. perhaps next time we’ll head into town and get cash from the local bank.

just got back from cabo a week and a half ago.. by guess_whos_bizzack

i went by myself and it’s been at least a decade since i’ve been out of the country (went to the philippines when i was a young pup).. i couldn’t afford a really long stay.. but i was able to squeeze in a 3 day / 2 night stay at the cabo villas beach resort (a couple blocks away from downtown).. what’s cool about cabo is that it’s only about a 3 hour flight from SF

one of the best vacations i’ve had (despite the pushy people trying to sell you time share as soon as you get out of customs).. felt awkward at first because all i saw were old couples in the shuttle when i first got there.. and here i am traveling solo lol.. felt at home once i got to the resort though.. a lot of beatiful women working there.. even the maids looked good!

i was able to go bar hopping one night.. one of the locals took me to el squid roe.. but it was pretty laid back because it was the night after halloween.. from what i heard it gets pretty rowdy there though

next day i had to go through a time share presentation (they offered a free 3 night stay to come back in the future so i couldn’t resist).. once that was done.. i went jetskiing.. ate some genuine mexican food.. atv riding through the cactus desert in playa migrino.. after about 45 minutes of riding.. you end up at the secluded beach with miles of sand.. this is where you could get loose with the ATV and ride as fast as you want to.. i went in the afternoon so i was able to catch the sunset.. ate dinner at the restaurant near my room once i got back.. they had a little bit of everything there.. mexican.. italian.. japanese.. american

next day i took a walk along the beach before i left.. got a late check out and flew back to the bay.. expensive trip.. but well worth it.. i’ll try to post a pic or two when i have time

stayed at the westin...during a hurricane by GraceinSF

my boyfriend and i brought his parents down who had never left the usa. we figured it would be pretty tame. well… we got there a day before a pretty big hurricane hit. we were stuck in the room for a few days while it passed. nevertheless, the resort which is not typically my kind of thing was fantastic! we rented a jeep and went driving up the coast which i loved. the actual town is really geared for americans, so it was kind of gross. i liked getting off the beaten path. the snorkeling wasn’t great b/c of the storms, but it was still lovely. dinner in town at ‘mi casa’ was really wonderful, a bit pricey though.

Pricy, crowded by karen

If you are into going where all the tourists go, then this place is for you. Everything is overpriced. Food, drinks, hotels etc..etc..Not my cup of tea or tequlia for that matter. I’d rather stick to the smaller towns and villages.

Stay in the Marina, near all the action. Its not loud, but you can walk everywhere, and do whatever you want whenver you want.

My favorite place in Mexico, but I hate all the big all-inclusive joints. I like doing my own thing, so Cabo works well.
