Kittery

I was staying in New Hampshire and drove up to Kittery to visit the outlets.

i went to kittery to visit my best friend on spring break last year but also for my birthday. my best friend is my brother and he and my other brother live together there. by the time it was my birthday i hadn’t seen either in almost a year and all i wanted from my parents was to visit my brother and best friend. i got and it was so much fun and relaxing and perfact.

I lived in Kittery, Maine when I was in middle school. I lived right on the bay. One morning I woke up to the sound of helicopters. My mother told me that a young boy had been lured into a man’s car with the offer of a new dirt bike. When the kid got in the car, he was driven to the man’s house and put into a plastic tube. The man then filled the tube with cement and took it to the bay near my house and tossed it in. They never found the boy’s body, as far as I know.
This, however, is not a relection on the town. Kittery is actually incredibly small and homey. This was the only crime I ever heard of.

Is a great place

I don’t know that it’s a great destination, but my grandparents built a cottage in Kittery and my family went up there for a week-or-so every summer when I was growing up. I have a strong fondness for that town despite all the outlet malls that have sprouted like dandelions…

Nice place for a coastal drive. Good outlets. The candy store (Yummies) was insane – how do you walk out of that place and not buy something???

Outlet malls are a good time.

The outlets are what make the drive worthwhile. The rest is pretty standard New England scenery.

I drove up from Boston with a friend, just for shopping. As I recall, it was autumn, which made for a beautiful drive.

I think of Kittery when I think of New England. It’s nice lobstering (fishing) town. It’s true there is a lot of shopping at the outlets, but there is a culture there as well. I watched some of the boats come in and go out.
