Not just chocolate! by Red1332
I lived in Hershey as a child and smelled the chocolate factory at work when the wind was just right in the mornings as we walked to school. We often went to Chocolate World on rainy days, and I remember we spent one Saturday on the ride, then testing out a new candybar (that eventually became the Whatchamacallit) and then going to their cafeteria for ice cream (back when they still had a Hershey Ice Cream) and sandwiches.
As I’ve grown I’ve found lots of fun at Hershey Hotel for their New Year’s Eve party, Hershey Park where I spent my honeymoon, and ZooAmerican, which is great because it only features animals from North America. The Hershey Gardens are also lovely year-round and I would go just to tour them alone.
In short, there’s a lot to do for your family and you would need a week to take everything in. This doesn’t even include the miles of bike and walking trails around the Hershey school that I used to ride on as a kid! It feels like a sleepy small town despite the many tourists that come to visit, and maintains that farm and country charm even with outlet malls nearby.
