Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 9 months ago

    Worth visiting!

After miles and miles of miles and miles. It is a very satisfying stop for many reasons. Yes it is a truly kitschy and quirky place. Very touristy. But with a little time to wander the store you will find one of the best western art collections
anywhere on display. Part museum and part store the artifacts
are everywhere but yet hard to find. The book store is one of the finest. The jewelry selection extensive. A boot selection I’ve not seen anywhere else. It’s impossible to describe if you’ve not been there. A huge complex and a great time if you have a little time to kill.

The first time I went to this place  — 11 months ago

    Not worth it!

I went to Wall Drug because I was driving from Mount Rushmore and the Badlands to Minneapolis and there was hundreds of ads on the road for it. I thought it was pretty overrated . . . I stopped in, bought a piece of fudge, used the bathroom and got the heck out of there. Too many people, too hard to find anything and just a big old store.

    Not worth it!

I spent the night here while travelling cross-country from Maryland to Washington. The old motel I stayed in (The Welsh Motel) was good, and I got some delicious doughnuts in the morning at the Wall Drug. I can’t really recommend stopping there, but it doesn’t matter because you will end up stopping anyway. Enjoy.

It’s really tacky and everything is way overpriced, but it’s the sort of the place one should stop for on a road trip just because it’s so utterly ridiculous and american.

Have some of the doughnuts and 10 cent coffee. It’s some of the best stuff you’ll ever eat!

They have (or had) a fantastic fudge shop there…we used to travel to SD every summer and would stop at Wall Drug at least to get some fudge before going back home again. I think it’s been about 11 years since I’d been there last.

Wall Drug is worth visiting (and you will likely feel compelled to stop there after the endless stream of billboards advertising it) if only to see what a overwhelming attack of consumerism/kitsch it is. Strange place.

Great place for cheap coffee (a nickel).

10,000 signs to Wall Drug  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

On the highway I 90 in South Dakota, you start to see signs of “Wall Drugs” from even 300 miles away… you can see many signs along the high way. I wouldn’t have gone to that place, if my curiosity hadn’t been aroused by those signs. LoL

    World’s. Largest. Tourist. Trap.

I mean, if you’re bored from a few LONG days on the interstate, it might be a nice stop… but I was much more impressed with the Badlands.
