The ‘Prentice Pillar.
There are lots of other incredible carvings.
Rosslyn Chapel is in the village of Roslin, Midlothian, a short (well 30 minute) bus journey from Edinburgh city centre. If you visit Edinburgh but fail to visit Rosslyn Chapel then you’ve missed something special, incredible as Edinburgh is.

Amazing sight
Even if you haven’t read “The DaVinci Code” (or the much inferior “Hiram Key”, which I do not recommend), this chapel is worth a visit. It seems like every square inch is covered with intricate carvings of an incredible variety—Masonic symbols, angels, maize and aloe (from the New World, which supposedly hadn’t even been discovered yet). We went on a tour to get there, but according to the website you can take the bus too.
