Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 6 months ago

    Worth visiting!

I visited most of the island with my mother and sister. My sister drove (driving on the wrong side of the road through narrow streets was actually her thing). We had a great time, but too much info to meantion right now.

A tip I have about this place  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

The weather was terrible, almost constantly foggy, but that didn’t matter. We had a couple of days of sunshine and I got a couple of rounds of golf in. (Courses attractive, but the rough was the most punishing I have ever come across). The pubs are legendary – just how I imagined West Irish pubs to be. There is plenty to see and the people are friendly.

Don’t try and ‘do’ the west of dingle in half a day. You will be disappointed with the experience. Take a couple of days, stay west of Dingle and discover the real rather than the tourist side, it is well worth it.

Could only spend a morning here, had to catch a train back to Dublin, but I managed to bike along the peninsula for as long as I could, it was awesome and tiring.

Stunning… and I made the trip b/c a penfriend had sent me a postcard of the place when she visited there a few years before I did. Friends have raved about it since. Did not get to see the dolphin, whose name I forget, because it was unfortunately overcast when I drove through it.
