My Place on the net by jnick

I have been building sites now for a few months. My latest is http://www.dmsj-projects.com. I have spent a deal of time learning html and java to get it to work right, but it has been a real learning experience. The main site building tool has been using coffee cup software to create the sites. They even invited me to join the ambassador club.

Well, my first website launched in 1996 with a beige background, 1 image (a painting) and an animated cat running across the bottom of the screen…

The page was all handed coded (html) and I will never forget the ‘magic’ of seeing it live with all of the images on the web.

Since then, I’ve dabbled in html, javascript, enough perl & php to use perl or php scripts, flash, and css. I journal online (ok, some of you may call it a blog!) about art, various life experiences, travel, and IT/web issues.

I can guarantee you that my website will not look like the screenshot by next week. I update the site design by season (thank you CSS!), so it’s kind of bland mode at the moment.

I truly can not imagine my life without the web. I keep in touch with friends much better than I ever would without it.

oh, and you can visit my site at
robinart.com

Any feedback is always greatly appreciated (either about the site design or the content/art).

Items in this window appear more attractive than they are... by cranberrygoddess

Worth a visit, but not worth moving to. It’s very isulated from the rest of the world, and the locals are creepy.

Good way to kill time when you have nothing to do at work, like now, but the outside world has so much more to offer.
