Byward Market

The Byward Market is my favorite place in the whole world. I moved away from Ottawa for a few years and missed it everyday. The smell of the restaurant and all the fresh fruits and veggies are an experience in themselves. I wouldn’t give this place up again.

You MUST eat at Shawarma Palace at 464 Rideau Street. I have tried nearly all shawarma restaurants in Ottawa and this one is simply unbeatable. When I move away from Ottawa, I am sure I’ll have to make a trip back just to eat here again.

It’s great in the summer, I love the market.

this place is just lovely.

Pretty much the only place open in downtown Ottawa after 9PM. It’s where everyone hangs out with some of the “best” restaurants in town and boutiques. Clubs and pubs too surrounded by museums and capital buildings.
