Little Town Americana by FlyGirl

Hannibal was a boyhood home of Mark Twain and the basis for the fictional town of St. Petersburg. Sitting right on the Mississippi River, it has a kind of timeless quality to it. I could imagine the riverboats of the mid to late 19th century… or the raft of Huck and Jim.

Life on the Mississippi by collector of junk

I’ve wanted to go there for a lomg time. Yes, I can bet it is a big tourist trap. So is San Francisco.

I love how the whole area is touristy based on the Mark Twain novels about Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer.

Kitschy but Inspirational by Elfa

I loved this town. My International Baccalaureate English class took a trip out to Hannibal (four hour drive from KC) and I enjoyed every minute of it. I especially found the Java Jive a great place to just sit and write. The history’s fun and the river provides beautiful views.
