Little India definately isnt as good as the real thing, but if you have time to spare in Singapore then its worth a look you can get some nice Indian food there and they have a big shopping centre there.

    Not worth it!

It was dirty as hell. For the cleanest place in the world (Singapore), this part of town sets it back ages! Mustifa Street

    Worth visiting!

the banana leaf apollo is a delicious indian restaurant that i think would be a good place for beginners to indian cuisine to visit – it has cuisine from north india and from south india and it is all very tasty.

Really India  — 1 year ago

Upon returning to Bangalore, I showed Mom pictures and she exclaimed, “But this looks just like India!” Well of course, it was Little India.

I love the 24 hour supermarket, MUSTAFA..it’s great..coz it’s all packed with indians. Found 2 pairs of cute shoes. Also had a very nice meal on the street. It’s much better and sooo much cheaper compared to the one in Holland Village. I’d love to walk around again someday around the area.

Went to Little India on our stopover in Singapore. Not my favourite part of Singapore but it was deffinetly an experience. There was a good 90 cent store were everything was 90cents, loved it. There was also a shopping centre, can’t remember the name but it was fabulous, I bought a SWATCH watch for 80 singaporean dollars, which was like 60 bucks australian, real bargain considering the watch would have cost like 90 back home. Lots of Gold Shops, they’re everywhere. And it’s the most shiny gold i’ve ever seen in my life. Nice Indian temples as well, didn’t go outside, but lots of nice elabourate statues on the outside.

banana leaf restaurants and temples  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

This is one of the least over-sanitised over-controlled corners of singapore. I had a great, super-cheap meal on a banana leaf, and saw an interesting south-indian style temple.

Singapore has made an attempt to mix up all the ethnic groups and not have specific districts, but when they discovered what a tourist attraction a place like this can be they let it slide. Thank god for that!

Crazily enough, this is my favorite spot in the world’s most antiseptic city. Great brews & cool people at the Inn-Crowd and the Prince of Wales Pub.

lots of character  — 2 years ago

This area seems to be a backpackers’ favourite as well as being a little piece of India in Singapore. I have been having breakfasts of roti prata in the street stalls here almost every day.
