Paramount Theater

The Paramount Theater is conveniently located and I’ve often thought of becoming a volunteer usher so that I could see shows for free. I don’t go to the theater that often. But, I have seen the Oakland East Bay Symphony, Chris Rock’s 2003 stand up show, and a few plays at this venue.

Listen Oakland gets such a bad rap in this country. It is a good city with lots of great things. The Paramount is one of them.

An amazing art deco theatre, and a wonderful experience is to be had if you go there for a show, a movie, a tour.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like the new titles? Can’t I write my own title?

Anyway… my god, how I love the Paramount theater. How have I let ten years go by without going there? I think I’ll hop in the car and go right now… wait, I live in Maryland, I won’t get there until sometime next week.

Maybe in July, when I actually am going to get in the car and head to CA.

Don’t visit the Bay Area without going there.

the tour [1st and 3rd saturdays] is magnificent.

A real triumph of art deco design. Far more interesting than most things you could possibly see there. During the summer, they run old movies there. Perfect setting for Gone With the Wind
