How this place changed my life  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

Our 1st visit was in November 1992 and my wife I fell in love with the place.

I am an Englishman, resident in South Africa and I lived & worked in mainland France for a year in ‘56/’57.

I knew of Reunion and saw a ‘special offer’ for a week on the Island in Oct ‘92 and jumped at it.

    It changed my life!

I’ve been back 4 more times, between trips to UK, Maritous, Spain and New Zealand. I would have been again for a mid-winter break in June/July but I was put of by the continuing Chikungunya outbreak.

A note to the French Gov. PLease fix this!

Anything I don’t like about the Island? Yes, please stop importing CARS! The island is full, you don’t need any more.

Best island there! Parents grew up there, they loved it, siblings and I loved going there for vacations and can’t wait to go back this summer!

Meet that Pen Pal!  — 2 years ago

So back in they day, in high school, I got a pen pal from Reunion. It was a place to practice my french, but his teacher corrected it and sent it back to me. Kinda insulted, I didn’t write back as much, and I switched to writing in English.

He wound up misinterpreting some stuff I said, and it got much worse (he asked me if I had AIDS, which was totally bizarre and had nothing to do with what I wrote him).

So I’d like to head over there to meet him, speak my horrible french and show him how healthy I am. Oh yah, and I heard the beaches are pretty nice :-) I’ll check those out too.

well, for what i have to say, it is one of my favorite places i’ve been to. the island is soo beautifull and its inhabitants are very welcoming. Although overpopulated and allways congested of traffic jams, teh place is a great holiday destination for everyone: young, older and very old…nature lovers, party fans, hickers, surfers, musicians and all….
from the rocky coasts to the white beaches, from the top of the volcano to the deepest of the forest, the island will allways offer a dreamy taste to ur trip…
very europeanised, the island seems to overlook its maiden culture.
it all depends what one’s looking for….
for my part, my expectation were surely matched if not overpassed..
surely one place i would love to go back to…

My Island...  — 3 years ago

    Worth visiting!

    ... i mean, I live there so … it’s kinda mine.
Very nice place to live in, because of the kindness of the people and beauty of the island itself.
Plus have you ever seen (and smelled) an erupting volcano ? ;)

Many things to do there if you like beaches, mountains and extreme sports.
