Chihuly: Through the Looking Glass by MFM

Visited MFA yesterday to see the member’s preview of the Dale Chihuly exhibit which is marvelous. The colors are stunning. My favorites are the chandeliers – especially the red one as you walk in. There is a Persian ceiling that is captivating – a glass ceiling filled with glass of different shapes and colors – people gasp audibly as they enter and then wander around entranced.

We went back through more than once.

For lunch, eat in the Courtyard Cafe – delicious and inexpensive. On nice days you can eat outside. (Too bad they don’t enforce the NO SMOKING rule better out there, though.)

I try and go to as many art museums as possible when i travel. i went to the MFA 2 out of the 4 days i was in boston… the first day i was there, i saw an Egyptian sculpture that i had only seen in books and i was in awe- i think the security guard thought i was crazy because i stood and stared at every angle and smiled…

their Asian art collection is also amazing and well worth the visit if you’re into that!

i love the MFA! i took classes at the school of the museum of fine arts and so i went to the museum at least once a week. Try to go when the musicians are playing so you can sit and listen to them while you read or look at art.
