Our daughter was graduating from Air Force basic training. A happy trip, but a sad day when we left her to go home – my baby was leaving home and starting out on her own!

    It's a true story...  — 11 months ago

When I first moved to Florida in 1990, people I met kept asking me about the Alamo. It’s a historic landmark and like most people, I kind of lost some of my appreciation for it over the years. You can only have so many school field trips to the Alamo. My general answer to questions about the Alamo became that it was a pile of rocks. However, one day I did tell the story of when Ozzy Osbourne peed on the Alamo and got banned from the city. :P It’s a true story!

Definitely visit San Antonio. Although the Alamo can be boring to non-history buffs, if you know your history and visit on different anniversaries, pretty nifty stuff goes on. Everyone loves the Riverwalk; it’s not usually so unbearable as the street. Check out El Mercada the local market square for local vendor shopping and the Cove for awesome fish tacos (they are amazing!)

    Not worth it!

I lived in San Antonio, Texas, for almost 5 months because of the military, and the Alamo isn’t worth visiting. It’s boring, and it’s just right in the middle of this huge town. I mean, it’s cool to see once if you want but there are better ways to waste your time while there, like the riverwalk.

I was young. It was cool. Would do it again!
