Why I want to go to this place

The first photo I saw of this garden was in a display at the Chicago Botanic Garden and I put it on my list. A garden that is only open one day a year is a problem. I would recommend the wonderful book by Charles Jenks. “The Garden of Cosmic Speculation”. Sometimes places can only be visited through books and pictures.. I’m thinking about Mars!

Oh Dear :-(

This garden is only open one day a year for one afternoon as it is the artist’s own garden:

“The garden is only occasionally open to the public but, when it is, the interest among gardeners is so great that local roads have been blocked by traffic. It features large mounds of earth with paths circling around them, extensive water features and sculptures of stone, metal and wood.
Twisted, undulating landforms and terraces designed by Charles Jencks as “The Garden of Cosmic Speculation”. Lakes designed by maggie Keswick. Nonsense building, sculptures, kitchen garden of the six senses. Teas.”

Where I found it.

The photos are not showing up but I suddenly realised – is this because they are ‘all rights reserved’ rather than a creative commons license. If so here’s a link to the Flickr tag Charles Jenks

Looks cool!

I just found this place on Flickr by searching for all photos tagged Dumfries and Scotland. It looks amazing! I really want to go there. The reason I was looking for these tags was because the only Flickr photo on here for Dumfries was not of Dumfries Scotland and I knew that there were lots on Flickr.
