Nirvana

Nirvana is “Extinction”. It is the transcendent state of freedom achieved by the extinction of desire and of individual consciousness. Nirvana is the supreme goal of the disciplines of meditation and yoga. The release from desire (and consequent suffering) and the continuous round of rebirths (samsara) constitutes enlightenment and the experience of nirvana. Everyone can conceive nirvana as tranquillity and peace to equate with emptiness (sunyata), the essence of the Buddha (dharma-kaya), and ultimate reality (dharma-datu).

This is a very special place, open to adventurous travellers who are willing to make long inner journeys. It can also be reached quickly through various, often dangerous substances. I recommend the long-term gentle courageous journey which has many ups and downs but a clear goal.

Nirvana changed my life in so many ways that I can only hope that it shall do magical wonderous things to all who might be lucky enough to experience it. It’s not a cheap ticket though, and infact I heard that you can’t even buy a ticket of any amount of money to get there. The only way there now is by knowing the difference between good and bad, making choices based upon goodness, having goodness present in all of your actions, and by being accountable for your choices and actions.

Oh, and one other thing. I also heard that while there are many paths to this destination, there is only one divine source which will assist you in getting there. That source also is said to be something much like the holy grail itself, but not only does it reside in nirvana but it is a “Latent Miracle Power” that resides within all human beings.
