I love LSU! by TiffanyPinkDog

Geaux Tigers! My years at LSU were the most fun of my life. I met loads of great people and Baton Rouge definitely provides plenty of nightlife for college kids.

The school grounds are lovely, but I often found myself lost on campus. I don’t know if that was just me, or if others have that problem too…but some afternoons I’d be trying to find some building on campus that I didn’t ordinarily go to and I’d walk all over the freaking place for an hour before I found it.

Parking is a problem. Live close and walk. Seriously. The parking lots are so far away that you’d be walking the same distance from the parking lot as from your house.

Tailgating at LSU is the best! Even if you don’t care for football, you have to go to campus when there are games and enjoy the tailgaters. Strangers will give you beer and you’ll make new friends :)

When I was there, I lived in one of the dorms that was popular for the black sorority girls to live in. My room faced the little horseshoe parking lot, and I’ll never forget the evenings when those girls’ boyfriends who were in some fraternity (I don’t remember which) would come and stand in the lot and SERENDADE the girls. Like, seriously serenade them with beautiful songs. The girls who didn’t have rooms facing the lot would come over to our rooms that did, and we’d all look down at those dudes in their top hats and tails SERENADING them. None of the guys in the white fraternities ever serenaded us white chicks. Hmph!

I loved LSU. I could write for pages and pages, but I’ll stop now because it would be crazy for me to write that much. I totally recommend LSU. Oh, and by the way—I’m a college professor now, and knowing what I do now in the profession, I can confidently say that LSU is a great school SCHOLASTICALLY, too. If you finish a degree from there, you’ve really accomplished something. Is it Harvard? No. But is it pretty damn good? Yes, absolutely, and if you finish a degree there, you should totally be proud of yourself.

LSU Drive By by Kim N

I didn’t spend much time at LSU. Like most universities, there wasn’t anywhere to park! I drove around and looked at the students (many of whom had cell phones permanently attached to their ears). I stopped for one picture of Memorial Tower with a storm cloud just behind it.
