Best hill town by andrew bradfield

There is an amazing walk around the outside of the city walls. No tourists! The best views in Tuscany…

Went here when I was 12, with my parents. Want to go back someday.

One of my favorite places in Italy... by Lauren

San Gimignano was definitely one of the most beautiful towns I’ve ever been to. All the external architecture is pretty much original — beautiful medieval towers that still stand firm today. It’s amazing and beautiful and conducive to really great picture-taking. :D It’s also got a pretty sweet torture museum.

What a fantastic town. One of my favourite places in Italy. Great gelati, great views, great old buildings. We stayed in a mobile home at the camping ground and it was great value. So glad we stopped here and didn’t just come through on a day trip like so many others.

I think it was here... by cranberrygoddess

somewhere in Tuscany we stopped in a town with a pretty town square, and went into shops that sold all kinds of things that were fascinating to me and my sister as kids in 1989, but was covered with signs that said ‘bambini non tocare!’ (sp?), meaning, ‘children, don’t touch!‘). It was so disappointing, particularly when the prices of things were underneath the items, so you couldn’t read it without picking it up and thus touching it.
