It’s one of the most amazing castles! You can see it from all over Edinburgh. I always think it’s fascinating to walk the Royal Mile and wonder about the people who lived and walked that street centuries ago!

The audio tape is definitley worth it! Also, if you’re an American, make sure you go to the prisoners-of-war exhibit and see the American flag a POW etched into his door during the Revolutionary War. Very neat!

The castle is nice to see but expensive and can be long winded. If you aren’t that interested in seeing the castle up close then there are other places to see in Edinburgh that are just as full of history and a little lighter on the pocket! I’d recommend a walk along the royal mile – a beautiful, old and twisty part of the city with a hint of cafe culture and some interesting little hideaway things to see…

We went on a rainy day (which I know is often) but the views were still amazing. There was a lot of great history as well. Nothing bad to report at all

It was one day trip from Newcastle. It was a rainy day. But I felt WOWWW when I saw the old historical center of Edimbourgh (two weeks before the fire). The castle is fascinating. So medieval, so gothic. You have to visit it!
