EWB Work
Went there for a EWB-Senior Design trip in August 2005, and it was simply amazing. Over two weeks we built a school, collected data for design of a day-care/kindergarten facility, and visited with some amazing people.

How this place changed my life
I went to Santa Cruz, Bolivia for a mission trip in July 2006 through my local church. It gave me a new perspective on the world and also taught me lessons about the value of taking risks, getting out of my comfort zone and how people-groups in totally different cultures can love each other. I worked with children, women and met teens living in poverty. This was the first time I used my passport.. it broke me in and now I’m ready for more overseas travel!!

The last time I went to this place
I was visiting missionaries in Santa Cruz and we went up into the mountains. On the way back down, we heard a loud bang and suddenly the car was having trouble, the driver said the axle on our taxi broke . . . he said it was because “we ate too much ice cream,” but given the fact that his seat was a lawn chair, I think that maybe the car was a bit worn out! We finally got down off the mountain by driving very slowly and sitting as far from the broken axle as possible. It was a hoot and a time I’ll never forget!
