The very rainy, wet conditions mean you should definitely bring an umbrella and prepare to be amazed by the plants and animals you see. Watch out for Bears and other animals they are everywhere. This is Excellent hiking by Laurel FanI went backpacking there twice this summer, once out of Stehekin (see its 43Place for my entry) and once at Thunder Creek, on the Marblemount side. It’s a bit of a drive from Seattle, but it’s much less crowded than the closer in destinations, and the scenery is amazing and classic Northwest.
