Olympia
Worth visiting!
Untitled
I climbed Mt. Ellinor in August, which is located in the Olympic Mountains which are on the Olympic Peninsula. It was my first day hike and it leaned more towards the strenuous side. The first portion of the hike is through the woods but then it turns into a more open trail. The scenery was absolutely beautiful with the some little mountains whose names I can’t recall and great views of Lake Cushman. We also saw a few mountain goats and some very friendly chipmunks.

The last time I went to this place
I was on funeral detail with the Army and one of the places we served at was on the Olympic Peninsula. We did the 21 gun salute while it was drizzling. This may sound odd, but the rain added to the solemnity of the funeral, to be very honest.
I felt extremely honored to be there and pay tribute to the life of the veteran who had passed. However, I would like to go back to the Olympic Peninsula again, and see what it has to offer.
