The runs are long and the mountains are beautiful. Whitstler offers something for everyone. The spring and summer are just as fun as the winter. They have a jazz fest in September that is a blast. There is so much to do and not enough time to do it in.

It was sometime “off season” in 1988 when I was considering practicing podiatry in Canada.
A practicing podiatrist there at the time drove me up to Whistler just to “take a look around.”

Why I want to go to this place  — 11 months ago

I have never skied and/or snowboarded in my life. I’m joining band this year because we will be preforming there. It’ll be awesome!

A review of this place: Don't forget about Summer in Whistler!  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

Most people I know that tell me “You gotta go to Whistler!” always talk about winter and skiing (both fun things of course). However, I’m not big into winter sports, so when a friend said to check out Whistler in the Summer, my wife and I thought “Why not?”

We just got back from 4 days in Whistler, we were there the beginning of June. Now in June you can get a mix of weather, we had 2 days of HOT 80+ F (hey, when you’re from Seattle, 80 is “HOT” :) followed by 2 days of about 67F with off-n-on rain. I’ve been told that starting July you pretty much get “gauranteed” (as much as anything is) sunny/hot days.

Would I go again in June? DEFINITELY! There is plenty to do, and actually, there are more things to do in the Summer than in Winter. The hiking is beautiful and there are guide outfits that will take you to the more hidden trails. Horseback riding, water sports, canoe/kayak the River of Golden Dreams, and more!

Check it out; the lodging is cheaper than in the winter, and the beauty of Whistler in Summer is just as stunning as it is in the Winter!

Go There  — 1 year ago

This is the coolest place I have been to. The locals are chill and a very friendly. Don’t be put of by their sometimes rough appearance. I highly suggest going there and just getting the collective vibe of the town. It’s excellent.

I sometimes come up here. Just hang around the village and stuff. I used to ski up there and people should come here to ski and snowboard. It’s great.

    Not worth it!

Went here 3 yrs ago because we have a friend that let us stay at his condo with the only stipulation that we leave him a bottle of wine. How could we pass this oppourtunity up?
Besides I wanted to try out the Sea to the Sky hwy in my new MINI COOPER!(Great FUN) My husband teases me that he had white knuckles the whole way. We don’t ski so we just enjoyed walking about & eating. Left the next day.

HUGE SKI AREA!!!  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

What I liked about Whistler/Blackcomb was how huge it was. I would ski from the top of Whistler Mountain all the way to the bottom at full speed and it still took about 20 minutes to ski down the 5,280 feet of elevation.
