Worth visiting!
It has been my immense pleasure and honor to sing with several choruses at Chautuaqua Institution with the Chautauqua Symphony and Uriel Segel. Chautauqua is a very special place. Last summer, relaxing on the lawn by the lake below the Atheneum Hotel post afternoon rehearsal, I sat and simply relaxed and took it all in. My senses and my mind were attuned outward, unfettered, not over-stimulated in the way this modern bustling life causes us to do. Folks walked, children rode their bicycles down the lane by the lake, people sat on the porch of the Atheneum and chatted. Cottage gardens welcomed visitors to their gingerbread cottages. A quiet flow of life processed. My favorite performance was Carmina Burana for the Chautauqua Symphony’s 75th anniversary.
