You know… I got lost in this park and was harassed by many strange Spanish men. That being said, I’d go back. Just don’t go off the beaten path unless you have a buddy or are really tough! Gaudi’s work is awesome, and you can see the whole city from the park. OH yeah… it’s A LOT of walking. Like. a lot.

If you loved La Sagrada Familia and La Pedrera, you will love this park! I’m not sure which part I liked the best – the long, snaking, bright mosaic seats on the main terrace or the columns supporting walkways which have been built to look like tree trunks.

Get the local buses up to the park – much more laid back than the Tourist Bus, and far better value than a taxi.

If you get the metro up there, be prepared for a long walk up to the Park. It’s still worth it, but it’s warm work on a hot day.

It’s really worth getting there early in the day, as the crowds in high season and at weekends can actually spoil the place. Try walking all the way to the top of the park as there are even better views from up there.

The restaurant at the back of the open space surrounded by the long trencadis benches with the view over the city serves things like anchovies and olives – much better than the standard sandwiches.

Good web site for events and also for local transport isat http://www.bcn.es
