Why I recommend this place to visitors
Whoever thought that a roof could be so beautiful?? If you are impressed by the facade of La Pedrera, wait until you get up onto the roof (extra charge, but so worth it!). I loved all the sweeping curves and the unusually shaped chimneys.
I remember being struck that part of the building is still actually used as private housing! How wonderful to be able to go up to the roof once all the crowds have gone and have all that wonderful architecture to yourself.

A review of this place
The building itself is incredible. The exhibition of Gaudi´s work is out-of-this-world amazing. This is a must-see!

A tip I have about this place
If you go on one of the bus tours there is a coupon. I think it ends up costing about 7.50€. The roof garden is spectacular.
I was so impressed with the funky architecture and learning more about it. It was built in a way that there aren’t load bearing walls – any wall could be taken out without affecting the structure! That alone is amazing…

Great guide!
This place has the coolest guide ever! I was impressed with his enthusiastic way of talking about Gaudi. While listening to him, you can even think Gaudi is talking to you. It was the first time I’ve seen the visitors that much in dialogue with a guide. He created such an atmosphere. I still remember what a minimalist architect Gaudi is probably only because that guide explained it well. By the way, this was in 2005.
