Bodega Bay

The place we went on our first date, then 8 years later with our two children returned for our 8 year anniversary ♥

The fog was beginning to roll in, and that just made the mood even better. It is beautiful! And I had some great seafood with friends at a restaurant there that has a whale skull, and some enormous anchors outside. Have to try and remember the name.

Stayed in a tiny bed and breakfast where I slept on a massively uncomfortable cot, ate a bearclaw the next morning and (almost) became violently sick. Good memories connected to this place: there are none. It was rather flat and dull, and makes you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere (which you are, really). The ocean nearby, however, is beautiful, but it’s hard to appreciate when you’re choking back blinding nausea.

I love Bodega Bay. I used to live 15min from here, and went here all the time. The ocean is SO gorgeous. Plus, if you are a Hitchcock fan, “the Birds” was filmed there. I miss this place so much.

Be sure to stop at the little candy shop on the west side of the freeway and get some salt water taffy… mmmm
