Bowen Island

My friend and I took a ferry to Bowen Island and stayed with her parents’ friends. The community is amazing, everyone knows everyone. The scenery is breathtaking.

We were taken out on a speedboat around the island, and nearly drowned. We were greeted with “Oh, so you’re a flatlander, eh?” every time we told someone where we were from (Saskatchewan).

It was beautiful and I would love to go back.

I’d like to go here because it is close to where I live and it would be a nice easy day trip. It sounds like it is very beautiful there and I’d like to check it out.

Climbing Mount Gardner will take a reasonably fit person about four hours, up and down. At the top, you will be treated to a stunning view of the lower mainland to the southeast and the Sunshine Coast to the north. There are big wooden helicopter landing pads up there, and telecommunication equipment. Bring a picnic to eat at the top.

My girlfriend and I hiked around Killarney Lake, having dinner at the Seven Hills Bed & Breakfast and calling it a night after drinking more homemade wine than anticipated. We also stopped by Cocoa West chocolatier in Artisan Square, which has a wonderful view of the mountains on the mainland.

I love this place. Have been visiting every few years for the last 15 years. Very quiet and relaxing, stayed at Wildwood Lane Cottages – which were o.k.

I grew up here. Went to elementary schoolon Bowen a long time ago. I love this place the old general store we use to sit and wait and ask people to buy us beer. haha the good ol’ days.

You should check it out. I’ve stayed there and it’s awesome. Ope serves up some great old world food. :)
